The Cushing syndrome is a hormonal disorder. It is caused by prolonged exposure to an excess of cortisol, a hormone produced by the adrenal glands. Sometimes, taking medicines with synthetic hormones to treat an inflammatory disease leads to Cushing syndrome. Certain types of tumors produce a hormone that can cause the body to produce too much cortisol.

๐Ÿ‘‰ Some symptoms include:
๐Ÿ”น Obesity in the upper part of the body.
๐Ÿ”น Rounded face (moon face).
๐Ÿ”น Thin arms and legs.
๐Ÿ”น Severe fatigue and muscle weakness.
๐Ÿ”น High blood pressure.
๐Ÿ”น Increased blood sugar.
๐Ÿ”น Easy bruising.
๐Ÿ”น Purple stretch marks on the abdomen.

Diagnosis and treatment:
Laboratory tests can diagnose it and find the cause. The treatment will depend on the reason for the excess cortisol. If it’s because of taking synthetic hormones, a lower dose can control the symptoms. If it is caused by a tumor, surgery and other therapies may be necessary.
